South Drive Reconstruction

South Drive Reconstruction

The project was an urban road reconstruction in Simcoe, Ontario adjacent to the Norfolk County Fairgrounds and a residential area. The project scope included utility relocation and upgrading the cross-section to meet Norfolk County’s urban standard. This project required a Schedule A+ MCEA and was completed in an older section of the downtown. Due to the location in the drainage area and age, the storm sewers were very shallow and required custom structures in order to address historical surcharging of the system.

The project design scope included coordination for survey, geotechnical, landscaping, and public consultations during construction. In addition, the project had a hard deadline for construction completion due to the risk of conflicting with the annual fall fair. The project was completed ahead of schedule.
